We’ve all been there – our Android phone suddenly freezes, slows down, or crashes. In the past, the quick solution was to simply remove the battery, but with today’s unibody designs and bulky cases, that’s just not possible. So, what should you do?
The solution is actually very simple, and we’re going to show you how to do it. First, let’s take a look at what you’ll need: your Android phone, the volume rocker, power button, and home button.
If your phone is frozen, press and hold the power button, volume down button, and home button simultaneously for about ten seconds. This will give you the option to restart your phone. Simply press the volume down button to select restart and your phone will reboot.
If your phone is turned off, press and hold the volume up button and power button simultaneously. Continue holding until you see the Android logo. Once you see the logo, let go of the buttons and your phone will enter recovery mode.
In recovery mode, use the volume buttons to navigate and select “wipe the cache partition.” This will clear out a few things that your phone can do without. Make sure not to select “wipe data or factory reset” as this will erase all of your data. Once you’ve made your selection, press the power button to reboot your phone.
