How to Stop Skype from Minimizing Other Programs

If you are experiencing the frustrating issue of apps or games minimizing themselves on your PC from full screen, there are a few methods you can try to fix the problem.

Method One:

First, search for “regedit” in the Windows 10 search box. Click on “Registry Editor” to open it. It’s recommended to take a backup of the registry editor before making any changes. Click on “File” and “Export” to create a backup. Once you have taken the backup, double click on “HKEY_CURRENT_USER,” then double click on “Control Panel,” and go to “Desktop.” Find “ForegroundLockTimeout” on the right side, double click on it, and make sure the value is “30d40.” If it’s not there, add it and click “OK.” Close the registry editor and try again. If this doesn’t work, you can restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Method Two:

Click on the start button, then the settings icon to open the setting panel. Click on “Gaming,” and then “Game mode” and turn it off. Try again to see if the problem is fixed.

Method Three:

Search for “services” in the Windows 10 search box, and click on “Services” to open the service manager window. Find “Windows Error Reporting Service,” double click on it, and choose “Startup type” as disabled. If it’s running, click on “Stop” to stop the service. Click “Apply” and “OK,” then try again.

Method Four:

Search for “cmd” in the Windows 10 search box, right-click on it, and click on “Run as administrator.” Run these two commands: “sfc /scannow” and “dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.” These are basic Windows 10 commands that may fix the problem instantly.

Method Five:

Search for “Windows Security,” click on it to open it. Click on “Virus and threat protection,” then “Scan options,” and choose “Full scan.” Click “Scan now” and scan your computer for any malware that may be causing the problem.

Remember to always back up your registry editor before making any changes. Try each method one by one until the problem is solved.
