How to Stop Seeing Retweets on Twitter

Are you tired of scrolling through your Twitter timeline and seeing a constant stream of retweets? While some retweets might add to the conversation, many can feel like a “shill fest” and clutter up your feed. Luckily, there is a way to disable all retweets in your Twitter timeline.

First, you can turn off retweets for a specific profile by clicking on the three dots on their profile and selecting “turn off retweets.” However, if you don’t want to single out any specific accounts, you can disable all retweets in your timeline by going to “Settings and Privacy” and selecting “Privacy and Safety.” From there, click on “Muted Words” and add “RT @” to mute all native retweets. You can choose how long you want this mute to be in place and whether it applies to your home timeline and/or notifications.

It’s important to note that these settings apply to both desktop and mobile versions of Twitter. However, it may take some time for the changes to take effect on your mobile app. You can try restarting the app to help speed up the process.

By following these simple steps, you can enjoy a cleaner Twitter feed without the constant stream of retweets. Happy tweeting!
