Knowing what motherboard you have on your PC or laptop is essential for troubleshooting problems and checking how much RAM it can handle. Fortunately, you don’t need to look inside your PC case to get this information. In this post, we’ll show you how to check or find out what motherboard you have on a Windows 11 PC or laptop.
To get started, search for “run” in the search bar on your Windows 11 device and click on it or use the keyboard shortcut of the Windows button and the R key. In the run box, type in “msinfo32” and hit the enter key or click on OK. This should open up the system information window.
Once the system information window is open, make sure that “system summary” is chosen on the list on the left side, which should be the top option. Look down the list until you find where it says “baseboard manufacturer.” Under this, there should be two more baseboard options that will tell you the exact model and version. These three bits of information should be exactly what you are looking for.
After making note of the information you want, you can close the system information window. That’s it! You now know how to check or find out what motherboard you have on a Windows 11 PC or laptop.
