If you’re a Roblox fan and you want to experience it in VR, you’re in luck! In this post, we’ll show you how to play Roblox VR on the Oculus Quest 2 using a laptop. The best part? You don’t need to have a high-end PC to make it work.
Before we start, you’ll need a Windows 10 laptop that meets or exceeds the specifications for Oculus Link and Oculus Quest 2. You’ll also need an official or third-party Oculus Link cable. You can pick up the latter for much cheaper on eBay. Finally, you’ll need the Oculus and Roblox software.
Let’s get started! The links you need for this tutorial are in the description below. First, download the Oculus app and install it on your laptop. Complete the setup, and then go to settings > general. Click on the “unknown sources” tab.
Next, go to the Roblox website and select any game you want to play. Click the green “play” button. It will ask you to install the Roblox software. Click “yes” to continue.
Now, plug your Oculus Quest 2 into your laptop using your desired cable. Put on your headset, and you may get a pop-up asking you to allow access to the headset. Click “yes” to continue.
Go to your Quest 2 settings and in the “quick actions” tab, select Oculus Link. This will launch you into Oculus Home. From there, navigate to your browser and go to the VR game you want to play. Click the green “play” button, and the game should launch in full VR support.
If the game doesn’t launch in VR, go to a regular 2D Roblox game and go to the Roblox settings. There should be an option to enable or disable VR. Make sure it’s enabled, and you should be able to launch games in VR as normal. If you have any other issues, it could be down to a hardware problem, so make sure you meet or exceed the specs of Oculus Link.
