If you’ve successfully hacked your DSi and installed custom firmware and Twilight menu, you can actually play Game Boy Advance games from your SD card. This can be done using GBA run or – which is already on your SD card if you’ve installed custom firmware – but you need to get any Game Boy Advance BIOS and do a few things to set it up.
To get started, connect your SD card to your computer and go to the first link in the description of the tutorial video. This is where you can grab a Game Boy Advance BIOS. Once you have downloaded it, extract the ZIP file and rename the BIOS file to BIOS. Then, drag and drop it on the root of your SD card.
You also need Game Boy Advance roms, which you can get from anywhere you like. Once you have your roms, copy them to the Game Boy Advance folder in the roms folder on your SD card. If you don’t have a Game Boy Advance folder, create one and put your roms in it.
Once you have set everything up on your computer, insert the SD card back into your DSi and launch up the Twilight menu. If you have put the BIOS file on the root and renamed it successfully, it should appear and allow you to boot into the Game Boy Advance Runner to emulator. From there, search for a rom and start playing!
The tutorial video provides a step-by-step guide to help you through the process, and you can test out various games to see if they work. The sound works and the games run perfectly fine off the SD card. Once you’re done, you can simply press the power button to reboot your DSi.
Overall, playing Gameboy Advance games on your DSi has never been easier, and it’s a great way to enjoy your favorite games on the go.
