Are you a fan of Nintendo’s 3DS games but also love playing on your Wii U? Well, we have some good news for you. It is possible to play 3DS games on your Wii U with just a few simple steps.
First things first, you will need to go to the GitHub page that the tutorial creator has linked in the video’s description. Download the 0.5 version of the RPX file in order to support Tiramisu. Once downloaded, drag the RPX file into your Wii U’s SD card, specifically into the Apps folder located in the Wii U folder. Once you have done that, you can eject the SD card from your Wii U.
Now, it’s time to connect your 3DS to your computer’s Wi-Fi in order to view the IP address of your 3DS, which will be needed for the process. Turn on your mobile hotspot in your PC’s network settings and connect your 3DS to it. You should see an IP address displayed on your PC screen. You can also view your IP address from your 3DS’s Rosalina menu by enabling the debugger options.
Once you have your 3DS’s IP address, boot up your Wii U and launch the Homebrew browser or application and load up the RPX file. You will see the IP address and enter the one that you got from your PC. You can toggle between screens or use the large screen option to play on both your TV and GamePad. Now, boot into the boot NTR selector on your 3DS and load into 3.6 there.
If you want to control 3DS games with your Wii U gamepad, go to the Rosalina menu on your 3DS and select miscellaneous options, then click on start input redirection. This will allow you to control the game with your Wii U gamepad.
Although there are some technical glitches such as frame skips and screen freezes, the regular old 3DS games work just fine. However, it is important to note that new 3DS exclusive games like Minecraft on the 3DS may have a lower frame rate.
