If you are a Spotify user who likes to create playlists or listen to albums, you might be interested in this awesome shortcut created by Cody. In this post, we will guide you through the steps to create a Spotify shortcut that can play your favorite playlist or album on your preferred device.
First, create a shortcut called “Plays Spotify.” This shortcut will access your iCloud like other Spotify shortcuts. Make sure to get the refresh token by scrolling down to the “Enter your Spotify URL” section. If you leave it blank, it will play your recently played tracks.
You can enter any Spotify playlist or album URL in the “Internal Spotify Playlist URL” or “Spotify Album URL” sections. However, if you enter a track URL, it won’t work.
If you have a specific device where you want to play your Spotify, you can enter your preferred device ID in the “Enter your preferred device ID” section. If you leave it blank, it will show all the available devices.
Once you run the shortcut, it should play your Spotify playlist or album on your preferred device. You can also copy the device ID and enter the shortcut to play it on that specific device every time.
If you haven’t set up any Spotify shortcuts, you will need to log in to Safari. This will create a file in the files app. After the file is created, you can delete it and create it again when you run the shortcut for the first time.
When you run the shortcut for the first time, after pressing “Create,” copy the code below “Spotify Authorization Code” to the clipboard. You only need to do this once.
If you don’t know how to cooperate with the device ID, you can enter and copy the ID to the clipboard. You can then paste it into the shortcut.
Overall, Cody’s Spotify shortcut is an excellent way to play your favorite Spotify playlist or album on your preferred device. We hope that this post was helpful for you. Thank you for reading!
