If you’re a Chromebook user, you know how important it is to have a reliable Wi-Fi connection. Whether you’re at home or on-the-go, being able to connect to the internet quickly and easily is essential. In this post, we’ll show you how to make a hotspot on your Chromebook so you can stay connected no matter where you are.
To get started, the first thing you need to do is turn on your Chromebook. The power button is usually located in the top right-hand corner, but it may vary slightly depending on the model of your Chromebook. Once you’ve turned it on, you’ll be prompted to enter your son or daughter’s student ID number. This is just their student ID number, and it’s a quick and easy step.
Next, you’ll need to enter your password. If you’re a student, the default password that the district gave everyone is “student” (with a lowercase “s”), followed by “LMI” (all uppercase), and then “2021”. However, keep in mind that your teacher may have changed your password in your classroom, so double-check with them if you’re not sure.
Once you’ve logged in, you can connect to your Wi-Fi network. Click on the symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen that looks like an inverted triangle. This will show you the accessible Wi-Fi networks you can connect to. If you’re already connected to a network, it will show up here, but if you want to connect to a different Wi-Fi network, click on the down arrow to see all the options.
If you want to use a hotspot, make sure your phone is turned on and the hotspot feature is enabled. Then, select your phone’s Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks. You’ll be prompted to enter the password for your hotspot, which you can find in your phone’s settings.
Once you’ve entered the password, click “Connect”. You’ll see a message saying that your Chromebook is connecting to the network. When it’s connected, you’ll see the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen change to show that you’re connected to the hotspot.
From here, you can do whatever you need to do online, whether that’s checking your email or accessing Google Classroom. Having a hotspot on your Chromebook means you can stay connected even when you’re away from home, making it a great tool for students, professionals, and anyone else who needs to stay connected on-the-go.
