Are you one of those players who got stuck in a battleground and don’t know how to leave? It happened to me yesterday and I was surprised to find out that the usual way of leaving a battleground was not working. If you click on the “Leave Battleground” button and it doesn’t give you the option to leave, don’t worry, there is an easy way out.
Instead of wasting time trying to figure out how to leave, simply type “/afk” and you will be pulled directly out of the battleground. You will receive the deserter buff, which prevents you from queuing for the next 15 minutes, but it’s better than being stuck in a battleground where you’re not having any fun.
Another way of leaving is to hearth out of the battleground, but this only works once. The afk option is therefore the safest and most reliable bet.
I decided to write this post because I was looking for a way out yesterday and it took me a while to remember that I could just type “/afk”. It’s embarrassing to be stuck in a battleground where you don’t belong and have people complain about you constantly.
So, if you find yourself in a similar situation, remember the quick fix: type “/afk” and you’re out. You can play again in 15 minutes.
