In some phones, the automatic settings are done as soon as the sim is inserted, while in some phones, it has to be done manually.
Having the right APN settings on an Android mobile phone makes a difference in your device network. Firstly, go to settings on your phone. This is going to be slightly different depending on who made your phone, but it’s always going to be in the wireless and network section of the settings. Open connections, then tap on mobile networks. Now select access point names. Now tap on add.
Here are the settings you’ll need to enter for the new APN:
– On Name type 4.4.8.85g
– On APN type 4.4.8.8
– On Server type www.google.com
– On APN type default
– APN protocol select ipv4 ipv6
– On bearer, you need to select all
Now you need to save the APN. You do that by pressing the three dots in the upper right and selecting the save option.
Once your APN information is saved, go back one screen to the list we saw earlier. On this screen, tap the new APN settings you just entered to make them active. Your phone will lose its data connection for a little while as it connects to the new network using the new network settings.
If you can’t get a connection after a few minutes, you might need to restart your phone. For any reason, if things aren’t working with the new APN, simply go back to these settings and change back the APN to the old one provided by your carrier.
