If you are an avid streamer, you are probably familiar with Hulu. Hulu provides on-demand content and live television options. If you have an Amazon Firestick, the good news is that you can access Hulu via your streaming device. In this post, we will show you how to get Hulu on Firestick.
First, you need to set up a Hulu Plus Live account through your computer, tablet, or phone. Go to hulu.com/live-tv and select “Start Your Free Trial”. You will need to create a Hulu account and fill out the necessary information. On the next screen, you will see your subscription and will need to enter your payment information. At the bottom, you’ll be given the option to turn on pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding through live TV. Once that is filled out, click “Submit”.
Next, you will see a list of add-ons and extra subscription packages available through Hulu. The additional cost of the packages is listed here as well. If you’d like to include them in your subscription, just click the plus next to them. Then, you can press the “Review Changes” button or you can skip this by pressing the “Skip” button at the bottom.
Click “Start Watching Hulu” and then share your location with Hulu to help personalize your Hulu experience. You can select a number of interests, shows, sports teams, and favorite networks. Follow the on-screen directions, and you are all set up.
Hulu is available to watch in your computer browser and a variety of other devices. Once you have completed the sign-up on your computer, you’ll move to your TV and Amazon Fire device. You’ll need to install the Hulu app onto your Amazon Fire from the Amazon Fire home screen. Go to the magnifying glass icon on the left, type in “Hulu”, and download the app.
Once downloaded, the app will be added to your home screen. Press “Open” to launch the app. Once the app opens for the first time, you’ll need to sign into the account you just made. You can either log in on your computer or log in on the Amazon Fire. If you choose to log in with your computer, follow the instructions on the screen.
First, you will see setting up Alexa voice commands on your remote. You can choose to set this up or skip this step. You can always come back later and set this up. Now you have access to your normal Hulu subscription with on-demand content as well as live television options.
Navigating through the Hulu application is easy. The home tab is where you find personalized things for you to watch, pick up where you left off, or browse through different categories of programming. The live TV tab will give you access to the channels available to Hulu. When you scroll to it, the last channel you are on will start playing. Pressing down will take you to the program guide, where you can scroll through channels and upcoming programming.
On the left of the guide, you can see different options for filtering what you want to watch from recently viewed channels, channels you’ve selected as favorites, sports, news, movies, and kids channels. The “My Stuff” tab will give you access to shows, movies, sports, and teams that you have favorited as well as your DVR.
Using search, you can search for programs by channel or show name, actor or location, or any interest you might want to search for. To the right of search is your account settings, where you can manage family profiles, change settings, set up voice control, and log out.
Enjoy watching Hulu Plus Live on your Amazon Firestick!
