Skype is a popular communication tool used by millions of people worldwide. However, sometimes users encounter an error message that says “Skype Home is unavailable” or “Cannot connect.” This can be frustrating, but fortunately, there is a way to fix this issue.
First, open the start menu and type in “%appdata%” (without quotes) in the search box. Hit enter, and this will take you to the roaming file. Do not click on it, just press enter once again. Once you are in the roaming file, find the Skype folder. If you cannot find it, type “s” to search alphabetically, and it will come up.
In the Skype folder, you will find a shared folder and an XML document with a file name that ends in “65.” This is the file that you need to delete. Do not delete the shared folder XML document 65, or you will encounter other problems.
After deleting the file, empty your recycling bin, and restart Skype. If it does not work, try restarting it again. If it still does not work, repeat the process two more times, but no more than that.
Hopefully, this solution works for you, but if it does not, give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more helpful tips!
