In today’s world, our contacts list is one of the most important things when it comes to technology. No one wants to lose their contacts, especially those that we have gathered throughout the years and that are important to us. Thankfully, we can export our contacts from Microsoft Outlook, so we can have a copy of them saved as a CSV file or any other file type. We can either keep that file as a backup for our contacts or import them to another email account.
To export your contacts from Microsoft Outlook, follow these simple steps:
1. Select the “File” tab to move to “Backstage View”.
2. From the left, select the category “Open and Export”.
3. Under “Open,” select the command “Import/Export.”
4. The “Import & Export” wizard dialog box appears, where we have to “Choose An Action To Perform.” Select “Export To A File”.
5. At the bottom of the dialog box, we have a description “Export Outlook Information To A File For Use In Other Programs”. Press the “Next” button to move to the next step of the wizard.
6. Here we have to create “A File Of Type,” “Comma Separated Values”. Press the “Next” button.
7. In this “Export To A File” dialog box, we can see all our email accounts. Select the folder to “Export From.”
8. In the next step of the wizard, we have to “Save” our “Contacts List”. Press the “Browse” button to navigate on our computer and select the file location where we want to save it.
9. Define the “Location” and the “Name” of the “Exported Contacts File” and press the “Next” button.
10. The next step of the wizard is to “Export Contacts From Folder Contacts.” We can “Map Custom Fields” by activating the button. Here we can add or delete some fields that we add during creating our contacts.
11. Press “Finish,” and we can see the dialog box “Import and Export” progress: “Exporting Contacts from Contacts to MyContacts2021.CS.CSV.”
12. Finally, we have an Excel file, a file that can be opened with Excel, to access our exported contacts.
