How to Enable Disk Use on iTunes for External Hard Drives

If you’re someone who has a lot of media files in your iTunes library, you know that it can quickly take up a lot of space on your computer’s hard drive. Fortunately, there’s a way to use an external hard drive to store your media and free up some space on your computer. In this post, we’ll show you how to enable disk use on iTunes for external hard drives.

First, make sure you have an external hard drive that’s plugged into your computer. Next, open iTunes and go to the “Preferences” menu by clicking on “iTunes” in the top corner and selecting “Preferences”. Once you’re in the preferences menu, click on the “Advanced” tab.

Under the “Advanced” tab, you’ll see the location of your iTunes media folder. By default, it’s usually located in your computer’s hard drive. To change it to your external hard drive, click on the “Change” button next to the location.

Use the file explorer to locate your external hard drive and create a new folder named “iTunes”. Inside that folder, create another folder called “iTunes Media”. Then, select that folder as the new location for your iTunes media folder.

Once you’ve selected the new folder, click “OK” at the bottom of the preferences window. iTunes will then move all of your media files to the new location on your external hard drive.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully enabled disk use on iTunes for your external hard drive. This way, you can store your media files on the external hard drive without taking up too much space on your computer’s hard drive.
