In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the rusted weapons can be a real bummer. However, there is a little trick that many players might not know to upgrade these weapons and make them more useful. Here’s how to do it.
First, you need a rusted weapon. In the video, the player has picked up a rusted claymore, but any rusted weapon will work. They then throw away a better weapon, a great flame blade, to make room for the rusted weapon in their inventory.
Next, the player fast-forwards through some gameplay until they reach the base of Death Mountain, near a trial that rewards rupees. From there, they climb up the mountain to a specific spot with a rusted weapon in hand.
The player finds a tough enemy, but instead of defeating them with their current weapon, they use the rusted weapon. The rusted weapon only does 12 damage, but when the enemy picks it up, they upgrade it to a much better weapon. In the video, the rusted claymore is upgraded to a 52 damage royal claymore.
The trick is only effective with swords, so it won’t work with spears or other weapons. However, it can be a great way to upgrade your inventory and make use of those rusted weapons that might have otherwise been discarded.
So, if you have any rusted weapons in your inventory, don’t throw them away just yet. Upgrade them using this trick and make them much more useful in your adventures.
