If you have an iPhone and a Windows 10 laptop, setting up a hotspot connection between the two devices can allow you to use the data package of your iPhone to get your laptop onto the internet. However, before you try to connect, make sure to check with your carrier (e.g. AT&T or Vodafone) to ensure you have the right package, or else you could end up with a hefty bill.
To get started, enable Wi-Fi on your iPhone by going to Settings and ensuring mobile data is enabled, then navigate to mobile hotspot and enable it. This will provide you with a Wi-Fi password that you will need to enter into your laptop to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the two devices.
On your laptop, click the upward arrow on the right-hand side of the screen and look for the Wi-Fi logo. Click on it and select your iPhone from the list of available networks. Uncheck “connect automatically” to avoid automatically connecting every time you’re in range, enter the Wi-Fi password, and click connect.
Once connected, you can check that you are online by opening a browser and visiting a webpage.
If you need to troubleshoot or change the name of your iPhone, you can do so by going to Settings > General > About > Name.
With these steps, you should be able to connect your HP laptop to your iPhone hotspot and enjoy internet access on the go.
