If you’ve recently purchased an AirTag and are looking for ways to set it up with your iPhone, look no further. In this guide, we’ll show you two different ways to set up your AirTag without using the plastic tab.
Firstly, hold your AirTag near your iPhone and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on from the control center. If your iPhone doesn’t detect your AirTag that is two inches or five centimeters away, lock your phone and unlock it. This will rescan your AirTag.
If this doesn’t work, don’t worry. There is a second method you can try. After unlocking the screen, tap on the connect button that appears on the pop-up. You can then select a name that is relevant to the item you want to attach the AirTag to and click on the continue option.
Confirm your personal information, including your Apple ID and password, and click on the continue button. That’s it! You can now use your AirTag with precise direction on the map.
If you’re looking to set up another AirTag, you can use the Find My app. Under the items tab, tap on the “Add New item” option and then select “Add AirTag.” Your iPhone will search for a new nearby AirTag, which may take some time.
Once your iPhone detects the AirTag, follow the same steps as before to connect it to your Apple ID. You can give your AirTag a custom name and verify your mobile number and Apple ID. Once you tap on the continue button, your AirTag will be set up and ready to use.
In the Find My app, you can now access your AirTag and manage it in various ways. You can play a sound, track its location, enable notifications, and more. If you’ve lost your AirTag, you can even put it in lost mode and rename it or remove it from your Apple ID.
