If you are using Chrome OS and want to mix sounds for your apps, you might face the issue of default notifications not being physically saved on the device. This means that every time a notification pops up, the file that Chrome OS wants is not there. However, there is a solution to this problem.
Firstly, you need to choose an app that will give you a lot of notifications. In the subtitles, the example used is Telegram. Then, you need to go to the app settings and select “notifications.” Here, you can choose to make a sound every time the app backs up. Instead of using the default notification sound, you can choose to use “media storage.”
However, not all sounds will work. In the example, some apps such as Karma and Cerys do not have sounds that work. But, there are some that do work, such as “nuts message.” You can go through the list and choose which sound you would like to hear every time a notification pops up.
It is worth noting that this only works for Android applications. The notification channels from Android Pie are still available, so you can configure the sounds for these applications.
Unfortunately, it seems that this cannot be done for messages for web. But for Android applications, this is an easy way to change the notification sound on your Chromebook.
