How to Change Display 1 and 2: A Step-by-Step Guide for Windows 10 Users

Are you having trouble switching which monitor is your primary monitor in Windows 10? Have you found the option, but it’s grayed out and you can’t click on it? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to change your primary monitor from Display 1 to Display 2, or vice versa.

First, go to an open area on your Windows desktop and right-click. A menu will pop up, and you’ll need to select “Display settings” at the bottom of the list. Once you’re in the display settings, scroll down to the bottom, where you’ll find the option “Make this my main display.” If it’s grayed out, don’t worry, we’ll fix that.

Scroll back up, and you’ll see an option that says “Identify.” Click on that, and you’ll be able to see which monitor is which. If you’re not sure, it will place a number in the corner of each monitor. Once you know which monitor you want as your primary, click on that monitor and it will turn blue.

Now, when you scroll back down to the bottom of the display settings, the “Make this my main display” option should no longer be grayed out. You can click on that, and your icons will switch over to your selected monitor, which will become your main monitor.

If you want to switch back to the other monitor, simply right-click, go to display settings, click on the other monitor, and repeat the process.
