How to Change App Permissions on Mac

If you’re a Mac user, you may need to change app permissions for certain applications to function properly. In this guide, we’ll show you how to change or give apps different permissions in Mac OS.

Before you begin, it’s important to figure out exactly what permissions you want to add or change. This will make things easier once we get to the permissions page.

To get started, head to the Apple logo in the top left and click on it. From the list that appears, choose System Preferences. In System Preferences, click on Security and Privacy, then go to the Privacy tab.

You should now see all of the permissions you can give on the left, such as location services, camera, or microphone. From this list, find each permission you want to give the app. For example, we’ll choose screen recording, but you’ll probably choose something else.

Select the permission, and some of the apps that want to use this feature will appear on the right, although they will be greyed out. Click on the lock icon in the bottom left of the window to allow you to make changes. After clicking on this, you need to enter your device password or use touch ID if you have it.

You should now be able to make changes and give permissions. Check the blue tick box next to the app you want to give the permission to. If you don’t see it, click on the plus icon and then navigate to the application you want to allow access for. After adding it, check the box to the left of it.

Once you’ve made all the necessary changes, you can close the window. That’s it – you’ve successfully changed app permissions on your Mac.
