If you’re currently an Amazon Prime member with an annual or monthly payment option and also enrolled as a student, you are eligible for Prime Student. So, how can you swap from Amazon Prime to Amazon Prime Student?
First, visit Amazon.com/joinstudent and complete the Prime Student signup process. You do not need to cancel your Amazon Prime membership before signing up for Prime Student. Once you are verified as a student and enrolled in Amazon Student, membership will refund the amount you were charged on your Prime renewal date or a prorated refund if benefits were used.
But what if you’re on a different website, such as Amazon.com UK? Simply type “Amazon Prime Student” into the search bar on the Amazon homepage and click on the Prime Student first result. It will bring up your nationality’s website for Prime Student. Then, click on “Try Prime Student Now.” If this does not work, head over to customer support and let an agent fix this for you.
To contact customer support, hover over your name on the top right of the Amazon homepage and click on “Your Account.” Then, click on “Contact Us” and once the page loads, click on “Start Chatting Now.” Type in “Swap to Amazon Prime Student” when prompted for what you need and chat with an agent.
Changing your Amazon account to student is easy if you follow these steps. Just remember that these instructions are for the USA Amazon website, so if you’re in a different country, adjust accordingly.
