If you’ve recently added new Echo devices to your home, you may want to change the room locations for each device. For example, you may want to move an Echo with a screen to the kitchen to easily check the weather or the time while having breakfast, or you may want to place an Echo with an alarm clock feature in your bedroom.
However, changing device locations in the Alexa app can be confusing. In this short tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process.
First, open your Alexa app and go to the home screen. Click on “Devices” to view your device locations. If you want to move an Echo from one location to another, click on the location where the device is currently located.
Next, click on “Edit,” which is located at the top of the screen. Uncheck the device that’s already in that location and save the changes.
To move the device to a new location, select the new location and click “Edit” again. Check the device you want to move and save the changes.
Note that you may be prompted to name the new location or select certain settings for the device. Once you’ve made all the changes, click “Save” to update the device locations.
It’s worth noting that the process of changing device locations in the Alexa app has changed over time. Older tutorials may recommend changing device locations through the device settings, but this will only change the device address and not the room location.
We hope this tutorial helped you change your device locations. If you found it helpful, please give it a thumbs up. For more Alexa tips, reviews, and unboxings, subscribe to our channel.
