Reading books on an iPad is one of the main reasons people buy it. However, adding books to an iPad can be a bit tricky. iTunes used to have a setup just like every other form of media where you could easily go into iTunes, select books, and drag and drop. But now, it has been made more complicated. It honestly took me a minute to figure out how to add books to my iPad, and I thought I would share it with you.
First, open iBooks. Here, you will see all of your books. But unlike iTunes, there is no indication that your iPad is hooked up. When you right-click on a book, you can read it or share it, but you might be unsure how to get it on your iPad.
After a bit of trial and error, I discovered that I already had some books on my iPad. When I clicked on Books, I saw a little “add to” button. Clicking on this button will allow you to add books to your iPad without syncing and erasing everything on it.
To add books, click on the “add to” button on the right side of the books you currently have on your iPad. To add new books, drag and drop them into the app. You can sort your books by artist name, album, or any other way you prefer. Once you have your books in iBooks, you can easily add them to your iPad.
It’s important to note that you must have your books in iBooks for them to show up in iTunes. So, you should set up your library in iBooks first. Once you have done that, you can add books to your iPad without any hassle.
In conclusion, adding books to your iPad may seem complicated, but it is really quite simple once you get the hang of it. Just remember to use iBooks to set up your library, and then you can easily add books to your iPad without syncing and erasing everything.
