How Long is the iOS 16 Update and How to Fix Preparing Update Stuck Issue

The latest version of iOS 16 has been released and iPhone users are rushing to update their devices. However, some users may experience a stuck issue during the update process. If you are one of them, don’t worry, there are three methods to fix it.

Firstly, reset your network settings. Poor network status can affect the update process. To do this, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Please note that it will delete your previous Wi-Fi network and password, so make sure you remember your Wi-Fi password. After the phone restarts, connect to the network and make sure you have allowed the settings to use your network. Then open Safari and check if apple.com can open smoothly. If not, switch to other Wi-Fi or use cellular data instead.

Secondly, download the update again. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage, find the iOS 16 update file and delete it. Then go to the Check for Update page and download the update again on a good network. If the issue still persists, you can update your iPhone using iTunes. Connect your phone to the computer and open iTunes. Once detected, click on the iPhone icon and click the Check for Update button. iTunes will download the firmware automatically and start updating.

If the update fails, you’ll need the help of a powerful iOS system repair tool called Reboot. Connect your iPhone to the PC, launch Reboot and click the green start button. Choose the standard repair so you can keep the data. On this page, you can get the latest iOS 16 firmware and download it to any location you want. Click the standard repair to proceed. This process will take about 10 minutes.

After the repair completes, you’ll see the new startup screen. Now you can enjoy the latest features of iOS 16. These are the three methods to fix the iOS 16 stuck on preparing update issue on iPhone. If it helps, please give us a thumbs up.
