If you’re in the market for a two-way radio, you’ve probably come across Midland’s line of walkie talkies. With a range of up to 38 miles, they sound too good to be true. That’s why the guys at Dirty Bronco Crew decided to put them to the test.
In this hands-on video, Sean and his crew unbox the Midland walkie talkies and show you what’s inside. They come with two handheld radios, belt clips, a USB charger for the vehicle, a charging dock, a wall charger, and headsets.
But the real test is the long-range test. Sean and his cameraman set off in their Bronco, with one of them staying behind to use the walkie talkie while the other drives down the road. They set the odometer to zero and start driving, talking through the walkie talkies as they go.
As they drive, they encounter some interference from the metal on the Bronco, but they’re still able to get a range of up to 7 miles. They show you how to access additional features, such as the weather scan and power mode.
Overall, the Midland walkie talkies perform impressively, especially considering the mountainous terrain they were testing them in. If you’re in the market for a reliable two-way radio, you might want to consider Midland.
