Apple Maps has been steadily incorporating features from Waze, a popular navigation app, into its own platform through updates. One of these features is the ability to flag police speed checks as well as hazards and crashes. In this article, we will guide you on how to do this on your iPhone or through Apple Carplay.
If you’re navigating with your iPhone, the first step is to ensure that you’re actually navigating somewhere. Then, tap on the little arrow at the bottom of your screen. Hit “report an incident” and choose “speed check”, “crash” or “hazard”. Once you’ve made your selection, you’re done! Other users will be able to see this report and adjust their route accordingly.
If you’re not navigating, you can still report an incident by opening up Apple Maps and tapping on the chat bubble with an exclamation mark on the right-hand side. A pop-up will appear, and you can choose to report a hazard, crash or police speed check. Once you’ve made your selection, a confirmation message will appear and then disappear after a few seconds.
If you’re using Apple Carplay, the process is similar to using your iPhone. If you’re not navigating, tap on the chat bubble on the right-hand side of your screen. If you are navigating, tap on the little arrow at the bottom of your screen to bring up the report screen.
Reporting an incident is a helpful way to contribute to a safer driving experience for everyone. Once you report an incident, other users will be able to see it and avoid any potential hazards.
