Venmo is a popular payment app that allows you to send and receive money from friends and family. It’s a convenient way to split bills or pay someone back without the hassle of cash or checks. If you’re new to Venmo, this guide will show you how to create an account on your iPhone.
First, you need to download the Venmo app from the App Store. Once you’ve installed the app, open it and tap on “Sign Up”. You’ll be given the option to create a personal or business account. For this guide, we’ll be setting up a personal account.
Enter your phone number and click “Send Code”. You’ll receive a verification code via text message. Enter the code and click “Submit Code”. Next, enter your first and last name, create a username, and enter your email and password. You’ll also need to confirm that you’re at least 18 years old.
Agree to Venmo’s user agreement and privacy policy, and then decide whether you want to sync your phone or Facebook contacts. If not, click “Skip for Now”. By default, every Venmo account is set to public. This means that every payment you make can be seen by everyone. However, you can change this in your settings, which we’ll cover later.
Click “Done” and decide whether you want to allow notifications or not. To modify your privacy settings, tap on the profile icon in the bottom right corner, then tap on the settings button in the top right corner. From there, go to “Privacy” and choose whether you want your account to be public, friends only, or private.
Now that your account is set up, you can start using Venmo. To send or request money, tap on “Pay or Request”. Enter the username, phone number, or email of the person you want to pay or request money from. You can also scan a QR code if available. Enter the amount you want to send or request and add a note about what it’s for. You can then choose to request or pay.
In addition to sending and receiving money, you can use Venmo to get a Venmo Card or buy cryptocurrency. Simply tap on the corresponding icon in the app.
