Apple has just released iOS 16 beta for developers during the WWDC 2022. With this new iOS update, Apple added advanced features in Messages, which include the undo send or unsend feature, edit messages, mark as unread, and recover recent deleted messages.
The undo send feature or unsend is a long-awaited feature for iMessage users. Now, you can unsend the iMessage you just sent by pressing the message box and selecting the undo send option. However, there is a time limit of 15 minutes after sending the message. Additionally, if your contact is using an older version of iOS, they will still be able to see the message you unsent.
Aside from the unsend feature, you can also edit messages on iOS 16. After sending a message, you can press it and choose the edit option. You can edit the message without unsending it. Once confirmed, the message will be recognized as edited.
The mark as unread feature is also a useful addition to Messages. You can mark a message as unread by right-swiping a contact and selecting the mark as unread option. You can also tap the unread button after swiping right a bit. This feature is helpful when you have a lot of messages to read later.
Lastly, you can now recover recently deleted messages up to 40 days. If you accidentally deleted messages before but want to retrieve them, you can go to the recently deleted folder and find them there. You can either delete them permanently or recover them.
Overall, iOS 16 adds exciting advanced features to Messages. It may be a bit late, but it’s still good news for iMessage users. With these new features, you can enjoy more convenience and flexibility in messaging.
