Are you experiencing trouble sending or receiving text messages using Google Messages? If so, don’t worry as it seems to be a common issue among Android users. In this article, we will provide you with a simple and easy solution to fix it.
Firstly, we need to stop Messages from running at all. To do this, go to Settings, then Apps and scroll down to Messages. Click on it and then click on Force Stop.
Next, go to the Google Play Store and uninstall the latest update for Messages. This may sound counter-intuitive, but it’s the only way to disable the app. After uninstalling, hit the Update button again to reinstall the latest version of Messages. This should take no more than 30 seconds.
After the app has finished installing, open it and try sending a text message. If it works, then you’re good to go. However, if it doesn’t, there is an alternative solution.
Go back to Settings, then Apps, and click on Messages. Click on Force Stop and then click on Storage. Here, click on Clear Data and confirm that you want to clear everything. This will delete all the data in Messages, but don’t worry, as long as you have everything backed up to your Google account, all your messages will come right back.
After clearing the data, go back and click on Open. Restart your phone and try sending a text message again. If all goes well, then you’ve successfully fixed the issue.
