Among Us has been a viral sensation since its launch and now it is available on Nintendo Switch. The good news is that you can play the game across all three platforms, including mobile, PC, and Switch. The game costs $5 on the Nintendo Switch eShop, the same as on Steam. However, it is not free like the mobile version.
During the live stream, the host got some questions related to the price, cross-play, and other details about this version of the game. One important thing to note is that the Switch version requires a Nintendo Switch online membership to play.
When it comes to voice chat, you can use the Nintendo Switch online app, but it will only allow you to hear Switch players. If you want to do a cross-platform session, you can use a third-party voice chat app like Discord. It is recommended to hit the deafen button when you’re in the middle of doing your tasks or killing some people.
If you don’t want to do voice chat during meetings, you can always type on the Nintendo Switch keyboard during these sections. However, given the time limits of meetings, it is recommended to stick to voice chat; otherwise, you’ll be panic typing with your fingers or the controller.
For local multiplayer, you can have friends and family come over with their own Switches to play with up to ten people. You’re gonna want to practice your poker face for this one if you’re an imposter.
The DLC packs are not yet available on the eShop or even in the main menu of the game. It looks like we’ll have to wait for this feature.
