The Panasonic Lumix DMC SZ 70 digital camera is a versatile and powerful camera with a tremendously long-reaching zoom lens. With a 60x optical zoom lens and a 35 millimeter equivalent focal length range of 20 to 1,200 millimeters, this camera is perfect for shooting from nearly any vantage point. The camera also features a range of aperture settings from 2.8 to 5.9 feet, providing greater control over focus placement and making it ideal for working in low-light conditions.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC SZ 70 also supports full high-definition 1080 I video recording at 60 frames per second, as well as 1080 pixels video at 30 frames per second in the internet-friendly mp4 format. The creative video mode settings offer greater control over the appearance of movies by allowing for the adjustment of shutter speed and aperture settings during recording.
For the most basic use of the camera, to take photos and/or record videos, simply set the camera to either the Program AE setting or the Intelligence Auto mode. Press the shutter button halfway down to focus on what you’re shooting, and then press it all the way down to capture your shot. Use the zoom lever located where the shutter button is to adjust the range of pictures to be taken.
To record motion pictures, press the red button to start recording and then press the button again to stop the recording. To playback any pictures and/or videos, press the playback button, and it will go to your history of all the items recorded. To delete any unwanted footage, press the trashcan button.
P and IA are the modes that are recommended for first-time users and beginners, and those who simply want the point-and-shoot feel. These settings are optimal to match the subject and recording environment. A is the aperture priority mode, and you would need to rotate the black rear dial to set the aperture value. When the aperture value is increased, the range of depth and focus expands, and the picture shows up clearly from the position of the camera to the background. When the aperture is reduced, the range of depth and focus shrinks, and the background can get blurry.
S is the shutter speed mode, and you would again need to rotate the black rear dial to set the shutter speed. When you increase the shutter speed value, you are able to reduce the movement of the object being recorded. When you reduce the shutter speed, the object’s movement is shown. M is the manual exposure mode, and you can use this recording mode to set your desired shutter speed and aperture value.
The artist’s palette is the creative control mode, and you can use this recording mode to select your own settings from various effects and take pictures while confirming these effects on the LCD monitor. The window pane is the panorama shot mode, and you can use this recording mode to take wide view shots of any open area. The camera also features a range of scene modes, enabling you to take photos or record videos with optimum settings like exposure, coloring, food, etc.
Finally, the video camera is the motion picture mode to record videos with your choice of settings and manual operation. With these features and modes, the Panasonic Lumix DMC SZ 70 digital camera is perfect for beginners and experienced photographers alike.
