How to Boot Safe Mode Windows 10

If your Windows 10 computer is acting up, starting it up in safe mode can be an effective way to troubleshoot the problems. However, if you’ve used older versions of Windows, you’ll know that getting into safe mode was as simple as pressing F8 when Windows started. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work in Windows 10. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to access safe mode in Windows 10.

First, let’s look at how to get your computer into safe mode if it starts up normally. If your computer starts up, but you’re experiencing problems or errors, you can enter safe mode from within Windows. Follow these steps:

1. Go to the Start menu, then to Power.

2. Hold down the Shift key while you click Restart.

3. On the screen that appears, click Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options.

4. Click on “See more recovery options,” which is at the very bottom.

5. Click Startup Settings and then click Restart.

6. You’ll now see the startup settings screen. Choose the type of safe mode you want to start by pressing the corresponding number key.

When your computer starts up again, sign into Windows, and you’ll see the black desktop with the white text at the top, indicating that you’re in safe mode. You can now troubleshoot whatever issues you’re experiencing. To leave safe mode and return to the normal mode of Windows, simply click Restart.

Next, let’s look at how to get into safe mode if Windows fails to start up. Unlike in older versions of Windows, there is no shortcut key to enter safe mode. Instead, you’ll find that when your computer fails to start three times, it should go into automatic repair. If it doesn’t, you can try turning on the computer and holding down the power button until it turns off. Repeat this process until you see “preparing automatic repair.” After a short wait, you should see the “Your PC did not start correctly” screen.

Now, click Advanced Options, then Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options again. Click on “See more recovery options,” then click on Startup Settings. Finally, click Restart. You’ll now see the startup settings screen. Choose the type of safe mode you want to start by pressing the corresponding number key.
