If you’ve just purchased a Roku Premiere and are looking to get it up and running, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to set up your Roku player and start streaming your favorite shows and movies.
Firstly, once you’ve unboxed your Roku Premiere, you’ll find a variety of items inside, including the streaming player, remote, power adapter, HDMI cable, and more. Now, locate an available HDMI input on your TV and insert one end of the HDMI cable into the input and the other end into the Roku streaming player. Don’t forget to use your TV remote to switch to the same input you’ve used to connect your Roku player.
Next, it’s time to power up your Roku player and remote. Connect the micro USB cable to the Roku player and plug it into a wall outlet using the power adapter included in the box. Alternatively, you can plug the other end of the cable into a USB port on your TV. Once the Roku logo appears on your TV screen, insert the batteries into your remote and select your language.
Now, it’s time to connect your Roku player to your wireless network. Select the network and enter the wireless password. Remember that your password is case-sensitive. Once all three checks are green, your Roku player is ready to download the latest software updates and features automatically.
After the software has been downloaded, you’ll be prompted to set your display type. Press “OK” on your remote, and your Roku player will automatically determine the best resolution for your TV. Once this has been set, you’ll see the activation screen. Follow the on-screen instructions to create and activate a Roku account for your player. If you already have an account, sign in, and you’re all set.
Finally, add some of your favorite channels to your Roku player, so they’re ready to stream on your TV. You can always add more or remove any you no longer want. Once you’ve done this, click continue to complete the activation process, and voila! You’re all set and ready to stream.
As an optional step, you can use the adhesive strip included in the box to mount your Roku Premiere in a position that works best for your setup. You can place it next to your TV or attach it near your TV, to the side, on the top, or the bottom.
