If you are looking to run an ad as a moderator on Twitch, there is some news for you – you can’t do that. However, you can become an editor, and I’ll show you how to do that. First thing first, you need to go to Twitch and click on your little icon on the top right. Then go to the creator dashboard and move to the left side of your creator dashboard and click on the community. There you will see roles manager, and you need to go down to the person you want to give editor access to, click on plus, and then click on the editor button.
An editor can edit the stream info, run a commercial break, edit video info, upload videos, create events, start reruns and premieres, and download past broadcasts. So, make sure you trust the person you are making an editor. Once you have given editor access, the person will have a creator dashboard. They will be able to run ad breaks as if they were running them through the creator dashboard.
You can also create a command for this, but the only one I’ve seen this through is Nightbot. You can go exclamation point commercial if you have Nightbot, space, and then the amount of time you want. The moderator/editor would put that in if they want to run an ad.
That’s how you can run an ad as a moderator on Twitch. If you have any questions or doubts, you can always come over to my stream. I’m live on Twitch Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m Pacific time. You can come over and hang out and ask me questions, and we have a whole bunch of videos on modding, which you should check out on the channel. I would definitely recommend ‘How to Mod on Twitch’ where I’ve shared ten tips on how to mod on Twitch.
Remember, it’s a little bit of a risk giving people more trust, so make sure it’s somebody you trust. Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps!
