Working out in virtual reality can be an incredibly immersive experience. Whether you’re using programs like Supernatural or games like Beat Saber, VR can be a great way to get your heart rate up and break a sweat. However, one of the biggest issues that many VR users face is that their lenses fog up when they get hot and sweaty. This can quickly ruin the experience and make it difficult to see what’s going on.
There are a lot of different ways that people have tried to eliminate fogging in VR headsets. Some use specialty straps to improve airflow, while others pre-warm their lenses with a hair dryer. Some have even gone so far as to drill holes in their headsets to allow for more ventilation. However, according to Colin from Connect the Watts, the most effective solution is also the simplest: wiping a drop of dishwasher soap directly onto the lenses.
Colin recommends wiping the soap off immediately after applying it, and he claims that this method can keep your lenses fog-free for several days and multiple sessions. While he notes that he hasn’t experienced any issues with this method, he also advises users to try it at their own risk. It’s worth keeping in mind that this method is not recommended by Oculus or Meta.
If you’re looking for a great VR workout, be sure to give the dish soap method a try and see if it works for you. Just remember to give yourself plenty of space to move around during your VR sessions – you don’t want to end up hurting yourself or anyone else!
