If you’re a gamer or just someone who works with a computer all day, you know how important it is to have a good mouse. The Logitech MX Master 2S is a popular choice for many people, but sometimes you may need to change the DPI (dots per inch) settings to get the most out of it. In this guide, we’ll show you how to check your mouse DPI on Windows and how to change it.
Before we get started, there are a few things you need to do. First, you need to disable mouse acceleration in your settings. This will help you build better muscle memory and improve your mouse aim. To do this, go to your Windows search bar at the bottom left and search for “mouse settings.” Tap on the one that says “mouse settings.” The settings box will pop up, and you need to go to the top right of the screen and press on “additional mouse options.” This will bring up the mouse properties box. Click on “pointer options” on the top bar, and make sure that “enhanced pointer precision” under the motion tab at the top is turned off.
Once you have disabled mouse acceleration, you can check your mouse DPI. Go to your browser (it can be any browser, but we’ll use Google Chrome for this example), type “DPI analyzer” and hit enter. Look for the website www.mousesensitivity.com, and click on it. When you get to the website, scroll down until you see the little table and ruler underneath. Come to the target distance box and put a “1” in there. This means to measure your DPI, you need to move your mouse 1 inch across your mouse pad in real life.
Click and hold the red target on the ruler, and then drag your mouse one inch in real life to the right. It may take a few tries to get it as close as possible to one inch, but when you feel like you did a pretty good job, it will display your actual DPI just under the table in green.
