If you’re a Mercedes owner, you might be surprised to learn that your car has a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. In this post, we’ll show you how to connect to the internet inside your Mercedes-Benz.
Before we get started, it’s important to note that a Wi-Fi hotspot is a device that emits a Wi-Fi signal primarily used for devices that don’t receive cellular reception, such as a tablet or computer. If you’re only interested in connecting your cell phone to the Wi-Fi, it might not make sense for you to pay for this subscription and have in-car Wi-Fi set up.
Assuming you want to set up Wi-Fi in your Mercedes, here’s how to do it:
1. Swipe from right to left until you see “Settings.”
2. Go into “System.”
3. Go from the bottom up until you see “Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.”
4. Make sure that the Wi-Fi is illuminated blue, meaning that it’s active and the vehicle hotspot is visible for devices and is active as well.
5. Ensure that “Activate Vehicle Hotspot” is on.
6. Go to “Vehicle Hotspot.”
7. Connect your device to the vehicle hotspot by connecting via QR code or via passcode. If you connect via passcode, you can press “here,” and you’ll see the Wi-Fi network name and password.
8. Unlock your device.
9. Go into “Settings” and then “Wi-Fi.”
10. Wait until you see the Wi-Fi name and select it.
11. Enter the password.
12. To connect via QR code, click on the QR code, highlight it with your phone camera, and click “Join This Network.”
13. Wait for a prompt to come up, and then register with the provider of the cellular to Wi-Fi service.
Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll be able to connect to the Wi-Fi with any device every time you’re in your vehicle.
