If you’re a MacBook owner, you know that one of the biggest challenges is keeping the display clean. Fingerprints, smudges, and debris can quickly accumulate, leaving your screen looking disgusting. But fear not! In just a few easy steps, you can make your MacBook display look like it just came out of the box.
First, you’ll need some screen cleaner. Whoosh Screen Shine is a great option, as it’s non-toxic, has a mild scent, and does an excellent job of cleaning the screen. You’ll also want to use an air blaster to remove any debris from the screen before you start cleaning. Costco’s Kirkland brand signature microfiber towels are also great for cleaning the screen, as they’re thick and absorbent.
To start cleaning, place your MacBook on a soft surface, such as an old towel. Open the lid at a ninety-degree angle so that you have full access to the display. Dim the display or power off the machine so that you can clearly see any dirt or grime on the screen. Use the air blaster to remove any loose debris, and then use the microfiber towel to remove any remaining debris.
Next, spray a modest amount of screen cleaner directly onto the cleaning cloth, not the screen, and drag the cloth from left to right, applying a little pressure. Work your way up toward the webcam and then down again. Repeat this process, starting from the left side of the display and swiping up until you reach the right side.
Finally, invert the towel to the dry side and polish the display, using the same pattern as before. The display should feel slicker as you clean it and soak up any excess liquid. Once you’re done, turn up the display brightness and use the air blaster once more to remove any lingering lint from the microfiber towel.
In just a few minutes, your MacBook display will look spotless, and you’ll be able to work on your Mac with ease. A clean screen not only looks better but also makes it easier to see what you’re doing. Whether you’re selling your Mac or just using it yourself, a clean screen is essential.
