The modern workplace is no longer confined to a traditional office space. With the Surface, people can work from anywhere and be productive while connected and creative. One common problem that Surface users face is how to project their screen to a larger display without using cables. In this article, we will show you how to connect your Microsoft Surface or Windows 10 device to your TV wirelessly.
All Surface devices come with the Miracast technology built-in, making it easy to connect to any TV with the same technology. Most modern TV brands such as Samsung, LG, Vizio, and Sony offer this feature. However, it’s essential to ensure your PC is within 25 feet of your TV.
To connect your Surface wirelessly to your TV, select the Action Center in the taskbar or swipe from the right edge of the screen. Alternatively, you can click the Windows key plus K for a shortcut. Select Connect, then choose the name of the wireless display or adapter you want to connect to. If it’s your first time connecting, use the TV remote to allow the PC connection and select “Allow.”
If your TV doesn’t have built-in Miracast technology, you can purchase a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter (WDA) to connect it wirelessly. To set it up, ensure your TV has HDMI and USB ports. Insert the HDMI end of the WDA into the HDMI port and the USB end into the USB port. Pick up your TV remote and change the source to the HDMI port the WDA is using. Then, repeat the same steps we took to connect the TV wirelessly.
It’s that simple. You are now connected wirelessly and ready to work or play. No more cables, no more mess. If you have any questions about the process, please put them in the comment section. And don’t forget to hit the like button if you found this article helpful.
